Nancy Grimaud, lab teacher at Mullanphy Botanical Garden I.L.C., uses educational software to address the same math skills taught in the classroom and to encourage students to use their higher level thinking skills. Her goal is to help her students feel confident about math and prepare them for the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests. “Orchard’s programs are very encouraging. When [the students] feel good about math, it is no longer something to be frightened of. The kids absolutely love it,” said Grimaud. “It has definitely helped reinforce and enrich the skills needed to succeed on the MAP.”
